The ribbon

The ribbon groups commands into tabs such as Home, Insert, and Formulas. The Home tab contains common formatting and editing tools. Commands change the selected cells, so check your selection before applying one.

02

The formula bar

The formula bar displays the value or formula stored in the active cell. You can edit a cell directly in the grid or select it and make the change in the formula bar.

03

Try it

Select a cell and look at its address in the Name Box. Type a short word, press Enter, then select the cell again and edit it from the formula bar.
